We got good news for my dad today. He will be leaving Kessler Institute on Tuesday morning. They say he is making remarkable progress and will be able to go home without a wheelchair. He will have a walker which is only for emergencies and for balance… if he needs it, but otherwise will have a cane for support. That’s it. He is relieved and so are all of us. He should not need full time care at home which we were all worried about.
He wasn’t looking forward to spending Father’s Day there, but now, even knowing that he won’t be home for Father’s Day, having a discharge date has put him in a much better mood.
So many friends and family members have gone to visit him there and I know he appreciates the support from everyone. Keep those well wishes coming. They are working…and please send some along for my former student. He needs them now and all the positive energy you were sending to my dad worked so well, I am hoping that it does the same for him.
