Complementing Each Other

Today is Dave’s birthday.  Forty-three.  Six and a half months younger than me.  Tonight we will go out and celebrate with friends.  For the most part it has been a fairly typical Saturday.  I ran/walked in a 5k this morning – a fundraiser for two of the elementary schools in town – while Dave stayed home and watched a soccer game.  The kids slept late, we gave Emmy Lou a bath, homework for Drew and for me.  Nothing too exciting.  Pretty much the way Dave likes it.  We joke how opposite we are.  The phrase, “opposites attract” works well for us. Dave is a quiet, reserved guy who prefers the company of a few people while I am outgoing, social and love a good party!

It works for us.  We complement each other.  We are a team.  I guess that is why we’ve been together for over 25 years.  There is no one I’d rather begin and end my days with.  Happy birthday Dave!  I love you!
